NorthWest Magnet

August 7, 2026a display of magnets at the magnet store

I got coffee with some similarly unemployed friends this week and I told them that I was excited to go to The Magnet Store soon, which is the storefront for NorthWest Magnet, tucked away off Interstate on N Tillamook. I had to ring a bell to get in, but once inside…magnets! Wall to wall!

please stop me from buying unnecessary magnets

Suzanne knew everything about magnets and had recommendations! She brought out a little metal sheet for me to try things on and encouraged me to really get a feel for each of them, haha. I found some cute little neodymium cylinder magnets to use while I work on my food planning project, so that I can stick recipe and snack cards right on the fridge. They’re maybe 1/4” in diameter and 0.75” tall, and I will probably paint the tips of them so they are more colorful.

my magnets are the little 0.75 guys in the upper left quadrant!

At the coffee shop, we were talking about how much we love very specific stores, run and staffed by clearly passionate people with specialist knowledge. Darius recommended Sunlan Lighting, for when you gotta have Kelvin Chat with someone re: your kitchen lighting, so I think that’s next up for me!
